SEAHAM RED STAR V NORTH SHIELDS
The games are coming thick and fast now. We are moving into the back end of the season and six home games on the trot finding their fourth game today against promotion chasing North Shields.
Two wins, two draws and three defeats since the turn of the year have seen Seaham continue their journey through midtable obscurity with time now really running out to make a push on the promotion chasers. If it is ever going to start then today is as good a day as any. To finish above your peers you need to start by beating them and North Shields are still eying up the top three places as they come to Seaham Town Park for this fixture. There is also the massive element of revenge today after the Northumbria side knocked Seaham for six back in October without reply.
Seaham will be without the indisposed Anthony Laidler and top scorer Jordan Hugill who is sitting out the second of a three game ban meaning that two massive faces are missing from the team but there can be no doubt that those coming in can do a job, this is exactly what we have the huge squad for with talent throughout and it is down to the team selected to step up to the plate and get the result.
North Shields are having a cracking season and have taken the majority of the league by surprise. I’ll be the first to stand up and say that I had them in my bottom four on the Northern Ventures Prediction game back in July 09. Its been a great push for promotion from The Robins though and despite the blip against Darlington RA on Tuesday night it should still be far from over. Equally good away from home as they are at home North Shields will come here fully expecting three points to continue their pressure on Marske and Stokesley.
