It took the visitors just 2 minutes to go into the lead when Alexander flicked on a throw into the six yard box for Turner to tap in with no one anywhere hear him. After 15 minutes things just got worse when Bettson lost the ball to Moore out wide who crossed this time for Alexander himself in the six yard box, again not marked at all, to double Billingham’s lead. Seaham did try to get back into the game but to no avail and with 5 minutes to go till the break Toman brought on Clough for Clarkson changing to 4-4-2. It was Billingham though who rounded off the half when Alexander also rounded McSween before shooting wide of an open goal.
5 minutes after the break Seaham were presented with a way back into the game when Robbie Bird was brought down inside the box and Bettson converted the penalty to make it 1-2. With 15 minutes left to play a long ball out Billingham keeper Wiggin beat everyone, including McSween to leave Earl running on to slot home. The Star didn’t give up though and a good ball through by young Gardner found Armes who pulled back neatly for Bird (Robbie) to drill his effort into the corner of the net setting up an exciting run in to the game. 5 minutes from time a Billingham Town corner was put in to the near post and, for the third time in the afternoon a Billingham player was left unchallenged in the box, this time it was Dalton who rose to head home and make it 2-4 thus securing the critical relegation points for his side.
Kyle Bird again picks up the man of the match award for another hardworking display but, having also picked up his 5th yellow card will now also face a one match ban.
